About Us: Banding Together for Breast Cancer

It is all about students banding together for public awareness and prevention of Breast Cancer. For years Sabrina Brooks was inspired, motivated, and driven to become a fighter for Breast Cancer due to the relatives and friends affected by Breast Cancer. Most recently, Sabrina formed the Walking 4 Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. as a dedicated fundraising non-profit organization to help breast cancer organizations raise new funds for their fight against breast cancer. Having extensive experience with high schools since 1992, Ms. Brooks has been a teacher and coached middle and high school Boys Basketball teams. Therefore, this new initiative is a perfect fit banding these two entities together.

Under Sabrina’s leadership along with a team of professionals, “Band Together for Breast Cancer” campaign was form. This campaign has been describe as the most creative and extensive student-based fundraising effort in the United States.

This campaign is allowing High School students to go door-to-door in their communities by unleashing their energy and efforts to help raise funds for their High Schools, increase public awareness and provide needed resources for Breast Cancer serving organizations. In addition, students will have an opportunity to receive college scholarships, attend a concert and meet a celebrity, of their choice, from a list of identified superstars. This campaign will run for two weeks in early fall of each year and funds will be distributed by a committee of qualified professional individuals from the foundation. Organizations will have an opportunity to submit their request through a request for proposal (RFP) process.

From Sabrina’s humble beginnings, her dream has been to provide the underserved and uninsured population with resources to assist in efforts against this disease. Now through this campaign, Band Together for Breast Cancer, thousands of women will be affected by our efforts.

The Band together for Breast Cancer campaign is a powerful program that will provide unique and innovative opportunity for students, provide awareness to the community and allow schools to gain additional revenue. Students are naturally compassionate and motivated to serve those in need, especially when a cause could directly affect their mothers, grandmothers, sisters, aunts, relatives and friends.

This new nationally focused campaign will build on the strength of professionals who have extensive experience and administrative oversight of local, state and federal programs and services. Our operating principles are accordingly centered to helping students, high schools and breast cancer service organizations.

This carefully orchestrated effort will provide the nation and each community an opportunity to experience miracles on how high school students can band together to make a positive difference. In addition, this campaign will allow early breast cancer detection, prevention, care and treatment.
